Interview Strategies
Promote yourself confidently and positively
Both internal and external interviews can be quite daunting. Often people feel very nervous and as a consequence don’t promote themselves as well as they could. Interviews are usually where a prospective employer first meets the candidate and forms their initial impressions of this person. Therefore it is vital to go into the interview well prepared. This means having high self-awareness, a very good knowledge of the organisation gained through extensive research and being convinced of the good match between both. Our guidance will assist you to:
- Understand the importance of preparation and research in demonstrating confidence in the interview
- Understand the importance of first impressions and body language
- Clearly articulate ability, willingness and “fit” to the role
- Understand the best way to answer behavioural and other questions that can sometimes be problematic
- Prepare key questions to ask in the interview that demonstrate interest and suitability for the position
- Handle salary questions
An additional option is available where we video practice interviews to allow you to assess your competence, your body language and your reactions. Experience has shown that people can be very unaware of their idiosyncrasies.
